Is teeth whitening safe?

Will it make my teeth sensitive?
Some patients may experience temporary increased tooth sensitivity to cold during and after treatment. These symptoms typically disappear within 1-3 days. Our dentists can recommend products to help reduce any discomfort.

How long do the results last?
Results vary from person to person, but typically last for several years with proper care. Avoiding staining foods and beverages (like coffee, tea, and red wine) can help maintain your bright smile.

Can teeth whitening damage my teeth?
No! Professional teeth whitening does not harm or damage your tooth enamel. It is a very safe and effective cosmetic procedure.

Is one treatment enough?
For very severely stained teeth, an in-office whitening treatment might not be enough to reduce severe yellowing and stains. In such case, crowns or porcelain veneers may be more appropriate and more effective for a shiny new smile.

What about those whitening products at CVS and Walgreens?
Over-the-counter bleaching agents are available for purchase at drug stores and pharmacies. However, since these products can cause harm to the gums and teeth without guidance, it is better to use our Take-Home Whitening under our supervision.
